My thoughts on crafting and beauty

Always Remeber that beauty is only skin deep. To achieve true beauty one must reach for inner beauty, then work on your exterior.

I look at crafting and beauty as two in the same. You go from a plain canvas and you build on it, creating a wonderful work of art. The same way we apply makeup to our faces. We begin as a fresh canvas, and later after the makeup has been applied, we allow a different kind of beauty to emerge.

What is going on with me and what I have planned.

Hello everyone. I know it has been a very long time since I posted anything on here. Today is mine and my husband Rene Garcia's 7 year wedding anniversary, It blows my mind how fast time passes us by. A lot has changed for me and my family in 2012 and the start of 2013, I will get into more details throughout this post.
I am currently reading a book called Resolution for women and working on improving myself from the inside out. I have given it all to God and am working on not allowing the words or actions of others to affect me. I am finally realizing that life is too short and nothing is promised to us, especially the future. I may not have control of how long I am destined to live on this earth, or the actions of others, however I do have control of how I behave as well as taking care of myself and the ones I love. The book is based on changing my ways and walking with God in the process of improving myself. I have spent my whole life getting angry with people and allowing them to consume me and preventing myself from living in true peace. I however am learning and developing myself to be a better and more productive person. The way I look at is God has thrown a lot of curve balls my way, but he never put more on my plate than I was able to handle and he always made sure to pull me through it. You know the old saying, "If God brings you to it, he will get you through it." I strongly believe in that. Despite what I have gone through over my lifetime, God has always gotten me through it and has always allowed me to be a better person as time passes.
I am 33 and will be 34 this year and I refuse to allow anymore time to pass me without cherishing each day and each moment I have. I have a few goals for 2013 and they are to be more active in my kids and husbands life, to do more crafts, to find work, to start working out and get into shape, to see a doctor about my health issues and get to the bottom of them, to take care of myself and make sure I do my hair and makeup on a daily basis and make sure to start feeling better about myself.
My biggest problem over the years is that I haven't been confident enough in myself and the things I do. That all stops now.
OK now on to what we have had to endure over the past year, up until now. My husband Rene got out of the navy due to new navy rules and regulations. Since getting out of the navy he has been unable to find work that will benefit us as a family and he also lost his unemployment right before the holidays. Finances have been tight as of late, but I am confident God has great plans for me and my family. I hope to one day open up my own craft business and to get a job that involves doing crafts or makeup. I also plan on going back to school to obtain my degree in nursing. I love helping others and since my father in law has been diagnosed with liver cancer I have seen his home help nurse come and check on him weekly. He always looks forward to seeing her. I know it will be hard to care for people and have something happen to any of my patients, however I will make the best of the time I am able to help them or their family members. Aside from becoming a nurse I would like to hopefully have my own online crafting business within the next few years. Our kids are adjusting well to the move. Oh yeah we made the move from Pensacola Florida to Ray City Georgia so that my husband could be closer to his parents with everything going on with them. I won't lie, living with his parents has not been that easy, but I know God has planned this out and I am holding on to the faith that things will get better. There has been a whole lot more going on, but as time progresses I will get into more details.
I have finally gotten my closet/makeup area done, the only thing I have left to do is set up my desk in order to be able to sit and do my makeup, rather than having to stand. Now don't get me wrong there are still some minor things I want to do in order to make the closet/makeup area look the way I want for it to, however it cost money to get the material I need in order to get the space perfect. I however am confident it will happen. The same applies for my craft space. My craft space is not yet done, but I am steadily working on it and hope to have it done the way I want it to look by the end of this weekend. I will be sure to do a post regarding my craft and makeup/closet area once I have it set up for the most part. I do want to purchase fabric and hide everything behind handmade curtains, but that will take time and if I wait until I am able to do that and paint all the furniture to match as well as get the other storage units I want, it may take a long while before I can get the video up, and I really don't feel like waiting until close to the end of the year or even the start of next year. I realize my spaces are not perfect in appearance, and that is much like me. I may not be perfect in appearance, but I am happy with myself for the most part and am aware that I have some minor changes in order to get myself the way I want, the same applies for my makeup/closet area and craft space.
Well I have rambled a whole lot, but I plan on starting to take more photos and do many more post on here. Thank you so much for stopping by and reading a little about me. Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns you may have. Hugs and love to you all. God Bless.

Wonderful News

Saturday March 10th, 2011, I had the most amazing experience of my life. The day previous I was browsing the worldwide web, and came across a website called Flourishes. Needless to say I was beyond excited the moment I realized the store was in my small town of Pensacola, Florida. I had express my excitement to my husband, and being the wonderful support that he is, he told me to pull up the address and he would bring me the following day.
When I woke up the next morning I was very excited to check out the new store. I gave my husband the address and he plugged it into our GPS system and away we went. As we pulled up to the address indicated online, I was thrown for a loop because it looked like a house. My husband suggested that I call and so therefore I did. The owner Jan answered the phone and informed me that it was more an online type situation, however I was welcome to come in and see and purchase a few things.
The moment I walked in I was beyond impressed with the setup of everything and the beauty of every product in the store. I was beyond excited and unable to contain myself. My husband decided to go outside and allowed me to look around, and speak with Jan.

As Jan and I got to talking we had discussed creating a YouTube channel, and having a few YouTube designers for the shop. During our discussion I had mentioned if she ever needed help I would be more than willing to help, and was offered a job. Needless to say I was beyond excited. I get to start Monday March 12, 2012. I am being blessed with the ability to help provide for my family as well as do a job I absolutely love.
The ironic thing about it all is that Jan prayed for an assistant the night before, and I had pray that God walk with Rene in I in life, and that he help either Rene or myself find a job. Needless to say God is good and he put both Jan and I in each other’s paths, fulfilling a need we both had and desired.

I am pleased to share with you Jan’s wonderful online store known as flourishes LLC. Here is the link http://shop.flourishes.org/ , be sure to check it out and shop away. Yes even you international ladies and gentlemen. Flourishes ships worldwide with the exception of Copics. Due to certain restrictions Flourishes is unable to ship copics internationally at the moment.

Operation Write Home Blog Hop

Hello everyone. I hope you all are having an amazing weekend, and that you are enjoying this wonderful blog hop. I am sure by the time you have gotten to my post, you have seen many very talented individuals. Believe it or not it doesn't stop here, there are many more people to see, and please be sure to hop on over to Lisa's blog at  http://schnauzscraps.blogspot.com/

I had planned on doing a tutorial on my youtube channel and posting it on my blog, however that didn't go as planned, because I have been dealing with being sick for over 3 weeks. I had assumed I would be better by now, but that is not the case, unfortunatly. I will say that as of Saturday morning at 4:30 in the morning I am actually feeling a little better and getting the blog together. It however is too late to do a tutorial, but I will be offering a tutorial on my youtube channel some time next week.

I ended up making a card with some floral spring colors as a background, and I kept it simple by placing my floral mat on a plain white card stock card. I then cut out 2 scallops in white card stock with my EK scallop 2" punch. With 1 of them I just inked the edges with my studio g pigment in lime green, and with the other punch I colored the edges and with the same studeo g pigment and continued inward till the entire scallop was colored with the lime green, and I traced around the edges with a crayola marker in the color pink. I then stamped in the side of the pink traced scallop with a cute little chick stamp I got from Micheals in the dollar bin. I then colored the inside of the stamp with a vareity of different markers with a fine tip.

After all was said and done I assembled the card and added a pink ribbon, stickles, flowers, and rhinestones to give it some finishing touches. I assembled my floral mat with my Ad tech dot glue runner. I will say I am very pleased with how it came out in the end, considering I had such a hard time in the beginning.

I really had a lot of fun doing this blog hop. I can't begin to tell you all  how honored I feel to be a part of this blog hop and the amazing people behind it. Please be sure to check out http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org I am beyond pleased to know what OWH is all about. Being a military wife, and raised as a military daughter, I know the importance of receiving a card from a loved one who can't be close. What OWH does for military families all over the world  makes me proud and humbled.

If you are interested in making cards that get sent over seas to our military members, that in turn gets sent to their family members as a way to keep them close during the holiday's and any other day. Some of the deadlines are as followed for the upcoming cards that are needed *Easter card deadline (March 18th) and Mother's Day deadline (March 31st)* Keep in mind that Father's Day cards will be needed soon as well.

Here is the link you may want to look over for the blog hop

I am happy to know that over 125 signed up for this blog hop. Thank you for taking the time to come check out my blog for this amazing blog hop and be sure to check out the many others who participated. Below are the pictures of what I made along with products used. Please be sure to check out my youtube channel for a future tutorial and many other different types of stuff to see. My youtube channel can be found here http://www.youtube.com/user/creativejackie831?feature=mhum

This is just a picture of the supplies used for this Easter card that I made.

Here is the close up of the card, I apologize there are not too many pictures of the completed card, but I am new to the camera being used. I will have a tutorial on how I made this card on my youtube channel sometime next week, please be sure to check it out, the link is provided above.

Here is the container with some candy that I will be giving away. I did not fill it up because I will be also adding some crafting goodies inside the container, and the container can later be used for storage. If you are interested in winning simply leave me a comment, if you are interested and it doesn't allow you to leave comments please email me at jacquelyn831@gmail.com and let me know.

Here is another picture of the candy jar, and I will also be including the card.

Thank you again for joining all of us and I hope you enjoy all the other bloggers and this wonderful hop. Have an amazing weekend. Hugs to all of you.

Scapchicky's Valentine's Day Blog Hop

Hello everyone how are you all doing? I hope you are having an amazing weekend, and that you will enjoy this blog hop. You have many amazingly talented individuals to view and learn from. Some of us will be also giving away some goodies.
I will be giving away a friend frame that I altered with lace, flowers, and rhinestones. The frame has a very important part of my life embedded into it. Unfortunatly the military destroyed my dress during transit, and I finally broke down after many years and took it apart.  In the upper right hand corner is an actually piece of my dress that I embossed to look like a real flower.  I hope the winner will enjoy.  I am not requiring anyone to follow me here on my blog, althought I would appreciate it, I will however like for you to be subscribed to my youtube channel and leave a comment and tell me your youtube name, and you will be entered to win the frame, bracelet and other goodies. I will be choosing the winner via random.com on Monday.
As you all know I am new to the whole crafting deal. I however am inlove with crafting. I love the ability to recycle products inorder to use on projects, and to see the amazing results.
I find such peace and comfort in crafting as well as anything beauty. To me they are two in the same, as strange as that may sound. I am rambling like I often do. LOL.
OK on a serious note I am partaking in  my first blog hop hosted by Ruthie (scrapchicky), as I stated in the beginning. Thank you Ruthie for this amazing blog hop. I am very humbled to be a part of it, and am excited to be a part of this blog hop.

Here is a little tutorial for you guys to enjoy and try. I hope you try it and enjoy it.

Just a little update.

Hello everyone. This post is the beginning of many post I will be doing on here. I hope you all had an amazing weekend. Mine was relaxing, yet I also spent the time getting things organized the way I wanted in my crafting area, creating my wish list of goodies I wan to invest in, and enjoying a weekend in with the family, as well as crafting. I have to admit I don't know if I will be able to stick to not shopping for the next 6 plus weekes, put I sure am going to try, especially since the hubby is going to allow me to purchase all the goodies I want come income tax return.
I have to admit I originally started this blog with beauty in mind. However I will be incorporating crafting, makeup, fashion, deals, all things hair, etc. into this blog. I have found as much beauty and joy in crafting and I have in makeup. There is nothing more wonderful than to put our thoughts into action and create beautfiul master pieces. I have been truly inspired by so many women in both the beauty and crafting community on youtube as well as blogs, and now I want to share with others my thoughts and ideas. My hope is to be able to keep you all better informed on here, twitter, youtube, facebook, etc. The links to all of my sites and ways for you to keep in contact with me are as follows:

My Etsy Sale Page: http://www.etsy.com/people/CREATIVEJACKIE831 (I will soon be posting things I intend to sale on my etsy store very soon. I will keep you all informed as I start to post things.

I will have giveaways on here from time to time, as well as on my twitter, and my youtube.  I will also do live videos on blog tv from time to time. I am in the process of getting this blog along with all my other sites the way I want them to look, and be proud of them all.  I hope to eventually have my own website as well. I however know it will take some time, but I intend to accomplish it all before 2011 is over. I hate to admit it, but I am not good at technology. Most other things I can say I am good at, but technology, NO. LOL.
I just ask that you take the journey of seeing me improve all my sites.
I am partaking in the 31 day challenge Marion Smith started on youtube, but I must say I have been lagging in my post. That won't be the case much longer. The hubby goes back to work on Tuesday and the kids will be in school. I already have my craft areas and makeup room the way I want it, and I won't see me having any problems in thinkin up a goal and accomplishing, recording information about it, and posting it. I will also be taking time this coming week to respond to everyones messages, emails, and comments. If I have not responded to you, please do not think I have been ignoring you, I have just been so busy, and have been gathering inspiration, thoughts, and ideas from some wonderful youtube ladies. Once I get caught up, I hope to stay caught up with everything.
I will soon be doing an updated craft area tour and hopefully provide you with different ways to store and organize your crafting supplies at an affordable cost. I must admit I did some crafting in the past, and got away from it for a while, then compliments of youtube, I have once again fallen inlove with crafting. I have stopped fearing if I did good enough work and just started going for it. I have learned that just like makeup, crafting takes practice, trial and error.
Speaking of crafting, I will be involved in a crafting blog hop in February. I am very much excited, and will keep you all informed.
I know this is a long post and I am sorry, I just wanted to keep you all posted. I will also be sure to update my blog sale of what is and is not available. I hope to embark on this journey with all of you. Big hugs and lots of love to all of you.
