My thoughts on crafting and beauty

Always Remeber that beauty is only skin deep. To achieve true beauty one must reach for inner beauty, then work on your exterior.

I look at crafting and beauty as two in the same. You go from a plain canvas and you build on it, creating a wonderful work of art. The same way we apply makeup to our faces. We begin as a fresh canvas, and later after the makeup has been applied, we allow a different kind of beauty to emerge.

Operation Write Home Blog Hop

Hello everyone. I hope you all are having an amazing weekend, and that you are enjoying this wonderful blog hop. I am sure by the time you have gotten to my post, you have seen many very talented individuals. Believe it or not it doesn't stop here, there are many more people to see, and please be sure to hop on over to Lisa's blog at  http://schnauzscraps.blogspot.com/

I had planned on doing a tutorial on my youtube channel and posting it on my blog, however that didn't go as planned, because I have been dealing with being sick for over 3 weeks. I had assumed I would be better by now, but that is not the case, unfortunatly. I will say that as of Saturday morning at 4:30 in the morning I am actually feeling a little better and getting the blog together. It however is too late to do a tutorial, but I will be offering a tutorial on my youtube channel some time next week.

I ended up making a card with some floral spring colors as a background, and I kept it simple by placing my floral mat on a plain white card stock card. I then cut out 2 scallops in white card stock with my EK scallop 2" punch. With 1 of them I just inked the edges with my studio g pigment in lime green, and with the other punch I colored the edges and with the same studeo g pigment and continued inward till the entire scallop was colored with the lime green, and I traced around the edges with a crayola marker in the color pink. I then stamped in the side of the pink traced scallop with a cute little chick stamp I got from Micheals in the dollar bin. I then colored the inside of the stamp with a vareity of different markers with a fine tip.

After all was said and done I assembled the card and added a pink ribbon, stickles, flowers, and rhinestones to give it some finishing touches. I assembled my floral mat with my Ad tech dot glue runner. I will say I am very pleased with how it came out in the end, considering I had such a hard time in the beginning.

I really had a lot of fun doing this blog hop. I can't begin to tell you all  how honored I feel to be a part of this blog hop and the amazing people behind it. Please be sure to check out http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org I am beyond pleased to know what OWH is all about. Being a military wife, and raised as a military daughter, I know the importance of receiving a card from a loved one who can't be close. What OWH does for military families all over the world  makes me proud and humbled.

If you are interested in making cards that get sent over seas to our military members, that in turn gets sent to their family members as a way to keep them close during the holiday's and any other day. Some of the deadlines are as followed for the upcoming cards that are needed *Easter card deadline (March 18th) and Mother's Day deadline (March 31st)* Keep in mind that Father's Day cards will be needed soon as well.

Here is the link you may want to look over for the blog hop

Scapchicky's Valentine's Day Blog Hop

Hello everyone how are you all doing? I hope you are having an amazing weekend, and that you will enjoy this blog hop. You have many amazingly talented individuals to view and learn from. Some of us will be also giving away some goodies.
I will be giving away a friend frame that I altered with lace, flowers, and rhinestones. The frame has a very important part of my life embedded into it. Unfortunatly the military destroyed my dress during transit, and I finally broke down after many years and took it apart.  In the upper right hand corner is an actually piece of my dress that I embossed to look like a real flower.  I hope the winner will enjoy.  I am not requiring anyone to follow me here on my blog, althought I would appreciate it, I will however like for you to be subscribed to my youtube channel and leave a comment and tell me your youtube name, and you will be entered to win the frame, bracelet and other goodies. I will be choosing the winner via random.com on Monday.
As you all know I am new to the whole crafting deal. I however am inlove with crafting. I love the ability to recycle products inorder to use on projects, and to see the amazing results.
I find such peace and comfort in crafting as well as anything beauty. To me they are two in the same, as strange as that may sound. I am rambling like I often do. LOL.
OK on a serious note I am partaking in  my first blog hop hosted by Ruthie (scrapchicky), as I stated in the beginning. Thank you Ruthie for this amazing blog hop. I am very humbled to be a part of it, and am excited to be a part of this blog hop.

Here is a little tutorial for you guys to enjoy and try. I hope you try it and enjoy it.

Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy.

Just a little update.

Hello everyone. This post is the beginning of many post I will be doing on here. I hope you all had an amazing weekend. Mine was relaxing, yet I also spent the time getting things organized the way I wanted in my crafting area, creating my wish list of goodies I wan to invest in, and enjoying a weekend in with the family, as well as crafting. I have to admit I don't know if I will be able to stick to not shopping for the next 6 plus weekes, put I sure am going to try, especially since the hubby is going to allow me to purchase all the goodies I want come income tax return.
I have to admit I originally started this blog with beauty in mind. However I will be incorporating crafting, makeup, fashion, deals, all things hair, etc. into this blog. I have found as much beauty and joy in crafting and I have in makeup. There is nothing more wonderful than to put our thoughts into action and create beautfiul master pieces. I have been truly inspired by so many women in both the beauty and crafting community on youtube as well as blogs, and now I want to share with others my thoughts and ideas. My hope is to be able to keep you all better informed on here, twitter, youtube, facebook, etc. The links to all of my sites and ways for you to keep in contact with me are as follows:

I will have giveaways on here from time to time, as well as on my twitter, and my youtube.  I will also do live videos on blog tv from time to time. I am in the process of getting this blog along with all my other sites the way I want them to look, and be proud of them all.  I hope to eventually have my own website as well. I however know it will take some time, but I intend to accomplish it all before 2011 is over. I hate to admit it, but I am not good at technology. Most other things I can say I am good at, but technology, NO. LOL.
I just ask that you take the journey of seeing me improve all my sites.
I am partaking in the 31 day challenge Marion Smith started on youtube, but I must say I have been lagging in my post. That won't be the case much longer. The hubby goes back to work on Tuesday and the kids will be in school. I already have my craft areas and makeup room the way I want it, and I won't see me having any problems in thinkin up a goal and accomplishing, recording information about it, and posting it. I will also be taking time this coming week to respond to everyones messages, emails, and comments. If I have not responded to you, please do not think I have been ignoring you, I have just been so busy, and have been gathering inspiration, thoughts, and ideas from some wonderful youtube ladies. Once I get caught up, I hope to stay caught up with everything.
I will soon be doing an updated craft area tour and hopefully provide you with different ways to store and organize your crafting supplies at an affordable cost. I must admit I did some crafting in the past, and got away from it for a while, then compliments of youtube, I have once again fallen inlove with crafting. I have stopped fearing if I did good enough work and just started going for it. I have learned that just like makeup, crafting takes practice, trial and error.
Speaking of crafting, I will be involved in a crafting blog hop in February. I am very much excited, and will keep you all informed.
I know this is a long post and I am sorry, I just wanted to keep you all posted. I will also be sure to update my blog sale of what is and is not available. I hope to embark on this journey with all of you. Big hugs and lots of love to all of you.
